Daily life depends on systems - land, water, weather, infrastructure - that often operate out of view. Clearer understanding of these systems changes how decisions are made here in the Hill Country, especially when choices respond to actual conditions rather than assumptions.

In modern life, work and play are often stripped down to output, 
convenience, and consumption. We're interested in what changes when these activities remain tied to skill, responsibility, and trust - with others and the environments they depend on - and what's lost when that connection erodes.

Much of life now happens at a distance, mediated by screens and schedules. This work examines what changes in our region when people spend more time engaging with real conditions and less time managing representations of them.
